Mural Arts - Restorative Justice Youth Program from Mara Model on Vimeo.

The Philadelphia Mural Art's Restorative Justice Youth Program helps young men find a path and an education through the arts by participating in different activities including creating murals. I interviewed Demetrius Caston, who shared his heartbreaking story with me and how the Mural Arts Program changed his life.

Partners for Sacred Places from Mara Model on Vimeo.

Partners for Sacred Places, which is a national organization located in Center City Philadelphia, aims to save abandoned places of worship in the city by connecting them to local theater companies/musicians. Their goal is to ensure that these churches/synagogues, which remain as a safe haven for communities, are never shut down.

Career Wardrobe from Mara Model on Vimeo.

For my website, 'Women's Voices in Philadelphia,' I interviewed the Career Wardrobe, a nonprofit organization that collects clothing and gives them to women who are in need of work attire for job interviews or a new job. This organization gives women the opportunity to get back into the work force and gain the confidence they need to succeed.

In May 2012, I created a five-page website using DreamWeaver. The goal was to show incredible women making an effort in Philadelphia to get their voices heard, from writers and mothers to leaders and organization volunteers. The website includes a homepage, a page for an audio slideshow, a page for a video, a page for an article and photos and a page for an interactive photo story. Each piece of multimedia had to be a different story. The organizations, the people I interviewed and the content, I found myself. I also created the coding myself.
